Welcome to the maze.
SoupOrMaze is a fantasy Premier League stats site built around one idea: consistency wins seasons. Every EPL player, every week, every season — with streak and value stats you won't find on the official app.
How to use the site
The table shows every player, ranked by total points. The number on the far left is a player's overall season rank — it never changes, no matter how you filter, and the top 25 players always carry a ✱. Use the dropdowns to switch season, narrow to the Top 25, pick a team or position, or change the stat view. Click any column header to sort by it; click again to flip the order. The search box finds any player or club instantly. Data refreshes automatically every hour during the season.
Stat views explained
- Standard
- The full picture: price, gameweek and total points, goals, assists, expected goals (xG), expected assists (xA), price change, and how many managers transferred the player in or out this week.
- Return key concept
- A return is any gameweek where a player scores 5 or more points. Returns are the building blocks of 3R and 4R.
- 3R — Frequency
- How many times a player has put together 3 returns in a row. Longer hot streaks count more than once: a 7-week streak counts as two 3Rs, and a full 30-week streak would count as ten. High 3R = a player you can trust week after week.
- 4R — Frequency
- The elite version: 4 consecutive returns per count. A 7-week streak is one 4R; 30 straight weeks would be seven. Very few players rack these up — that's the point.
- Defcon
- Defensive contribution, straight from the official EPL dataset — tackles, clearances, blocks and interceptions rolled into one number. The stat that finally gives defenders and holding midfielders their due.
- Points per Price
- Total points divided by current price. The value-hunter's view: who's delivering the most for the least, and which budget picks outperform the premium names.
- Starting Frequency
- How many matches a player has started, and what share of the season that is. Minutes are the foundation of every fantasy point — nobody scores from the bench.
Seasons
The season dropdown switches the entire table between seasons — ranks, streaks and stats are all calculated fresh within each season. The current season fills in live, week by week; past seasons are complete and final.
